This giant Northern Pike was caught in Cedar Lake in Manitoba. Doug Leroux, Regional Fisheries Manager, measured the fish to be 70-inches and estimated to be 50-pounds. The story goes that the man who caught the fish cleaned it and his family ate it.
The fish would have been a Manitoba Record Northern Pike but does not qualify as it ended up as dinner. The present Manitoba record Pike is 59 inches.
